Xiaomi has updated its Pad tablet series with the Pad 8 Pro, a new 11.2-inch tablet that surpasses the cheaper Pad 8 when it comes to performance. By extension, the Pad 8 Pro should be faster than the Pad 7 Pro (curr. $634 on Amazon), which relies upon Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset.
By contrast, the Pad 8 Pro moves onto the Snapdragon 8 Elite just as Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Nonetheless, the Snapdragon 8 Elite ensures that the Pad 8 Pro goes toe-to-toe with the Oppo Pad 4 Pro, OnePlus Pad 2 Pro or OnePlus Pad 3, Legion Y700 Gen 4 and the RedMagic Astra or Gaming Tablet 3 Pro.
The Pad 8 Pro also finds itself with an 11.2-inch and 3.2K IPS display that also offers a 144 Hz refresh rate. Additionally, Xiaomi's latest Pro-branded tablet contains a 9,200 mAh battery that supports 67 W wired charging via its USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port. On top of that, Xiaomi brings across the 50 MP primary and 32 MP front-facing cameras from last year's Pad 7 Pro.
The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro is available from today in China with a choice of three colour options and five memory configurations starting at 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Alternatively, the Pad 8 Pro can be configured with up to 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB of storage and an optional matte glass display variant. Full Pad 8 Pro pricing in China is as follows:
