OnePlus has already revealed the design of the OnePlus 15 and teased some of its specs. Now, pretty much every spec of the phone has leaked and we’re still about a month away from launch. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship is expected to carry a few upgrades over its predecessor and also come with significant changes to the camera system after ending the partnership with Hasselblad.
The information comes from leaker Lao Chen Air on Weibo (machine translated from Chinese) and it shares details on the display, camera system, battery, and more. However, some of these details have been proven to be inaccurate so take this with a grain of salt.
Starting with the display, the OnePlus 15 is said to come with a 6.78-inch LIPO 2.5D screen that uses a BOE X3, 1.5K display. It has a 1 Hz to 165Hz (confirmed) 8T LTPO dynamic refresh rate. The max global brightness is said to be 1,800 nits and it will support HDR10+. The phone is expected to be backed by a 7,300 mAh battery with support for 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
As for the camera system, the phone is expected to feature a wide angle primary shooter with 23 mm focal length, LYT-808 sensor, and f/1.6 aperture with OIS. This was recently disproved by OnePlus itself as it confirmed the primary sensor has 24 mm equivalent focal length and f/1.8 aperture. Similarly with the telephoto, the leak mentions 3.5x (likely optical zoom) with 80 mm focal length, f/2.8 aperture, and OIS. OnePlus confirmed there is an 85 mm telephoto camera on the OnePlus 15.
The company has not shared details on the ultrawide yet, so the leak is the only piece of information. It mentions a 0.6x lens with 15 mm focal length and f/2.0 aperture. No OIS has been mentioned for this camera. What’s also confirmed is that OnePlus will be using its DetailMax Engine which is branded as Lumo in China.
Some of the other rumored specs include IP66 / IP68 / IP69 dust and water resistance certifications, NFC, ultrasonic under-screen fingerprint reader, UFS4.1 storage, USB 3.2 Gen1 (5Gbps), and a multi-function infrared remote control. A recent hands-on video showed the top of the phone and it was missing the IR blaster as seen with the OnePlus 13 so it is unclear if there will be one on the OnePlus 15.
Once again, as we move closer to the expected launch date, it is possible that some of these specs change, but from the looks of it, the OnePlus 15 is shaping up to be a beast of a phone, though there may be some compromises in the camera department.
