A hands-on video of the OnePlus 15 has leaked ahead of launch and it shows the Sand Dune color of the phone from all angles. The top of the phone seems to be missing some cutouts suggesting an underrated feature has been skipped.

The OnePlus 15 is expected to be unveiled on October 27 in China and the company has been teasing the phone for some time now. It shared an unboxing teaser video on its official Weibo page recently, but an unofficial hands-on clip has now surfaced, hinting at a missing feature that was present on multiple previous generation models. And, fans are not happy with this omission. However, a recent spec leak suggests otherwise.

The 20-second clip shared AdministrationFun29 on the r/oneplus subreddit shows the OnePlus 15 from all angles. It seems to be the Sand Dune (Stand Storm globally) color but because of the lighting, it looks whiter than what OnePlus has officially showcased. The clip does show the top of the phone and there doesn’t seem to be an IR blaster, an underrated feature that fans are not happy to see omitted.

The unboxing video showed a glimpse of the top of the OnePlus 15 but the hands-on video shows it more clearly. There are speaker cutouts and what seems to be a mic. This is where the OnePlus 13 (buy on Amazon) had its IR blaster. Commentors on the Reddit post believe the upcoming phone does not have an IR blaster and some have even exclaimed they will not be upgrading to the OnePlus 15 because of this. It seems to be quite an essential feature for some users, but there are also others that are more disappointed about the lack of an alert slider.

Interestingly, a recent specification leak for the OnePlus 15 mentioned the presence of a multi-function infrared remote control. It could be that OnePlus has relocated the IR blaster to possibly somewhere in the camera island. The company has been teasing the specifications and it is possible that a confirmation of the IR blaster comes ahead of the expected October 27 launch.
