Orange Pi is a manufacturer of computer systems that are not necessarily aimed at typical end users. In this context, the AI Studio Pro is a new system that is essentially a mini PC with a clear focus on AI. The model has two Huawei Ascend 310 processors, as the focus is not so much on pure CPU or graphics performance, but rather on AI performance, which is specified at 352 TOPS. To put this into perspective: NPUs integrated into current APUs from Intel or AMD only deliver double-digit TOPS performance on average, while modern graphics cards reach four-digit values. This performance not only allows AI models to be powered locally, but also enables models to be trained or optimized. This means that there is no (complete) dependence on the cloud in this regard, which can also be beneficial in terms of data protection. Possible applications include the public sector as well as private and industrial environments.
96 or 192 GB of LPDDR4X RAM are on board. HDMI and USB-A are lacking, with only a single USB 4 port available instead. The AI Studio Pro is a specialized system, intended more as a supplement than as a standalone PC. The 207.7 x 132.6 x 80 millimeter system currently only supports Linux, but support for Windows operating systems is planned for later. Power is supplied via a round plug, and colorful lighting is included.
The system is available in China for the starting equivalent of around $1,900. It is not officially available in the rest of the world, so a direct import could be a solution here
