Evan Blass already knew, of course, but now the date of July 9, 2025 has been officially confirmed. On the night of June 24, 2025, Samsung finally revealed specific Galaxy Unpacked details following several teaser videos for the "ultra-foldable", which will nevertheless face stiff competition in 2025 from the likes of Honor, Vivo and Google.
Nevertheless, for the first time in several years, Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold7 is sure to generate enthusiasm now that it's virtually certain that it's closing the gap to other Chinese and US foldables in terms of case thickness. Samsung itself speaks of "breakthrough hardware" in its press release, but also emphasizes the AI aspect once again. Galaxy AI is intended to become the user interface and change the way we interact with devices. Instead of a collection of apps, the phone is intended to become a smart companion that understands us and does the work for us.
In addition to the Galaxy Z Fold7, the Galaxy Z Flip7 and, for the first time, a more affordable Galaxy Z Flip7 FE are expected to be unveiled. The Galaxy Watch 8, Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, and Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025) are also on the launch schedule. Teasers for Samsung's first tri-foldable, which is expected to launch in the fall, are also not out of the question. The event will take place, as expected, in New York City, specifically in the borough of Brooklyn. It will, of course, be streamed live worldwide. It kicks off on July 9 at 10:00 a.m. EST.
