Garmin has now released the Quatix 8 to complement its existing Fenix 8 smartwatches (curr. $1,099.99 on Amazon). For context, the company has been hiding its new mariner-focused smartwatch in plain sight for a few days. In short, the Quatix 8 builds on the Fenix 8 with marine-focused features like BlueChart map support.
As a result, the Quatix 8 contains Garmin's Elevate Gen 5 platform, an LED flashlight and a 1.4-inch AMOLED display, regardless of whether you opt for Garmin's 47 or 51 mm variant. Moreover, Garmin claims that the new Quatix smartwatch lasts up to 16 days or 29 days when opting for its 51 mm version.
On top of that, the Quatix 8 supports Chartplotter voice commands thanks to its built-in microphone. Likewise, the smartwatch can also use its speaker to make and take calls when paired with your smartphone via Bluetooth. Unsurprisingly, the Quatix 8 is 100 metre water resistant and dive-rated to 40 metres too.
The Quatix 8 is available to order from today starting at $1,199.99 with a 47 mm case size. Alternatively, Garmin also offers the device in 51 mm form but for a $100 surcharge. Please see Garmin's website for further details.
