Netbooks are very popular all over the world
An approximation of the market intelligence centre in Taiwan says that 8 million netbooks are going to get sold this year.

Obviously, the developing of netbooks closed a market gap, because those low cost laptops are very popular. The marketing intelligence centre Taiwan assesses that 8 million netbooks will be sold in 2008.
This number will increase to 18.3 million sold devices in 2009. The customers benefit from the range of products, because there is a big competition between the manufacturers and prices are dropping.
It is a moot point whether the manufacturers profit from offering those low cost notebooks as well. Fujitsu pronounced a warning, because they think that the netbook market harms the normal notebook market.
