Tarkov creator explains how next game, Fragmentary Order, is different

After the reveal in March, Rant Gaming studio head Nikita Buyanov has now shared more details on Fragmentary Order. The game, like his previous endeavour Escape from Tarkov, is an extraction shooter, but set in space. But it’s not just Tarkov in space; it is way more ambitious.
Nikita spoke with Insider Gaming and shared some details, along with some screenshots, of Fragmentary Order. Starting with the scale of the game, he said that the maps are “like five times more (larger) than a typical Tarkov location.” There will be different maps set on Earth, Venus, a space station, and more. The studio has already showcased the Blue Mars map, a partially terraformed Mars.
The developer explained that Fragmentary Order is grounded in reality and is a take on what could be our future. Talking about the differences between this and Tarkov, Nikita stated that this is based on a long-term session model that lets players stay in the same raid for one or two hours. While it has extraction shooter elements, players don’t necessarily have to extract at all. There will also be drivable vehicles in the game.
Multiple game modes will be coming to Fragmentary Order for a more sandbox environment. It is categorised as a PvPvE game, but there will be a PvE-focused game mode at launch. For now, it is unclear when players will be able to get their hands on the first build, but Nikita believes it will be available soon. The team wants it to be perfectly playable, both for hardcore Tarkov players as well as newcomers.
