The rumor is once again abuzz with Apple filing for a new patent
If Apple’s recent patent filing in LA is any clue, we are not far from witnessing the most eagerly awaited portable computer ever. This new on-screen multitouch screen should facilitate typing, resting, pointing, scrolling, 3D manipulation, and handwriting into a versatile, ergonomic computer input device all integrated. You will definitely miss the tapping feel that a physical keyboard gives, but who knows, this kind of screen may become the latest comfort. AppleInsider reports that the touchscreen would allow for a combination of typing, resting, pointing, scrolling, 3D manipulation, and handwriting.” It would detect all ten fingers placed on a touchsreen. And it would be able to recognize and ignore input from your palms.
Just few days ago, Taiwan Economic News has reported that according to industry sources the Apple tablet will have 9.6-inch multitouch display, Built-in HSDPA, P.A. Semi processor and long lasting battery back. Latest rumors reveal the names of quite a few OEM’s (original equipment manufacturers) and have further postponed the launch date to February 2010. As for component providers, Taiwanese company DynaPack will reportedly be the exclusive supplier of battery packs (as much as 300,000 per month) while iPhone screen-maker Wintek will be supplying the displays.
