More low-cost notebooks like the Eee PC
NorthTec develops its own low-cost laptop, which costs less than $ 300,-.
There is another low-cost notebook, besides the Asus Eee PC, the Cloudbook by Everex, the One by Elonex, and Elitegroups G10IL. NorthTecs created its Gecko, which is equipped with a 7" display, and Linpus Linux is used as operating system. This Linux distribution is very similar to gOS. Furthermore, a VIA C7M ULV processor with 1 GHz, and an integrated graphic card are installed. A PATA hard disk is included too. The Gecko costs less than $ 300,-, but no word about its availability so far.
