Dell and Samsung set to enter the 11.6-inch market
Dell and Samsung apparently start to plan 11.6-inch netbooks.
OK, so 11.6-inch is the latest craze! Looks like we have another couple of players entering the hot segment, and none other than Dell and Samsung. According to a report from Digitimes, Taiwan-based TFT-LCD panel maker Chunghwa Picture Tubes (CPT) has showcased an 11.6-inch and a 13.3-inch CULV panel, which may have led to a couple of orders from Dell and Samsung respectively.
The CULV notebook panel is backlit with blue LED combined with yellow phosphor, and has a maximum resolution of 1,366x768 pixels, brightness of 220 cd/square meters, and 3.6 watt power consumption – as reported by Digitimes. The panel should start mass production in July, said CPT.
