Nintendo Switch Online drops freebies for Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake

Nintendo is celebrating the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on Nintendo Switch 2 with a collection of free rewards for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Players can now claim eight new profile icons, featuring familiar faces and characters from across Hyrule. The selection includes both young and adult Link, Princess Zelda, Saria, Sheik and Kaepora, alongside icons depicting a Deku Baba and the Spiritual Stone.

Each character icon costs 10 Platinum Points, meaning players will need 80 points to collect all eight. Additional backgrounds and frames inspired by the remake are also available, with these items offering further customization options. Platinum Points are earned through various activities and missions, meaning players don't necessarily need to spend any money to access the rewards.

This is only the first wave of Zelda-themed goodies, with Nintendo planning to rotate the available rewards weekly over the next four weeks. To claim them, subscribers can open the Nintendo Switch Online app from their console's home screen and navigate to the Missions & Rewards section. From there, they can browse the available items and exchange their accumulated Platinum Points. Redeemed icons remain in players' collections even if their Nintendo Switch Online membership expires at a later date.
