Xiaomi 18 Pro Max international release confirmed with global launch date teased

Almost a week has passed since Xiaomi started teasing the global release of its latest flagship smartphones. Officially, the company merely referred to the 'Xiaomi 18 Pro series', rather than specifying exact devices. However, we speculated that both the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max would be in attendance for the company's November launch event to rival the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max (curr. $1,549 on Amazon).
Based on more recent leaks, other devices like a smaller Watch S5 smartwatch will be launching alongside the Xiaomi 18 Pro series, too. Now, the company has suggested that the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will, in fact, join the Xiaomi 18 Pro outside of China. At this stage, Xiaomi has only confirmed that this will be occurring in Japan and South Korea. Nonetheless, it seems that the video embedded below serves as a teaser of what is to come, rather than a country-by-country release strategy.
Setting that aside, the same video highlights that South America will not receive the Xiaomi 18 Pro series until December 2026 at the earliest. Currently, Xiaomi estimates that Bolivia and Chile are scheduled for December 2026 releases. Meanwhile, Argentina, Ecuador, and Central American countries like Honduras will be left waiting until early 2027.
Moreover, Xiaomi Japan has hinted that the company's global launch event will occur around November 16 through November 18. In a series of tweets, Xiaomi Japan has revealed that a 'Giveaway Event for New Products' will remain open until November 16. Typically, companies announce new devices shortly after the end of these giveaway events. Hence, multiple sources now suggest that Xiaomi has settled on a November 17 global launch event. Xiaomi has not explicitly confirmed as much yet, though.
