Overheating of Alienware Area-51 m15x fixed?

Category: other notebook news
By: Matthias Bauer

Alienware wants to fix overheating problems of their m15x by releasing a new BIOS upgrade.

The new Alienware BIOS shall fix problems of their Area-51 m15x. Those problems are overheating of the CPU and following down clocking. The beta BIOS X29b P3A30 shall fix these problems by increasing the CPU fans speed. The fan uses its maximum speed of 5400 rpm. This causes more noise, but also increases the cooling capacity. The beta BIOS is available only by email at present, but Alienware is working on a downloadable non-beta version. This final version is expected shortly.
