Epic Games has just started a new round of giveaways for PC and mobile. Nonetheless, it has also revealed what is next in store, with a Grand Theft Auto-inspired game chosen to lead the storefront's free game program.

Epic Games Store has just kicked off new giveaways for PC gamers. At the same time, the storefront has decided to offer something different for mobile gamers. Rather than settling for two reveals today, the company has also outlined some of its plans for next week too.

For context, the giveaways that started on January 15 will last into next week. Thus, all will remain claimable for free until January 21 at 16:00 UTC, although Epic Games' mobile giveaways tend to run over by a few minutes before being refreshed. Conversely, the two Styx series games on offer for PC gamers will be swiftly replaced by Rustler (curr. $17.50 on Amazon).

Also referred to as Grand Theft Horse by its developers, Rustler is a top-down action game that recontextualises original Grand Theft Auto gameplay within a medieval setting. Typically sold for $24.99, Rustler regularly drops below $5 to as low as $3.74. Nonetheless, next week's giveaway will be the first time that Rustler is available for free.

Reviews on Steam vary between Mostly Positive and Very Positive on account of the game's humour and its refrain from taking itself seriously. However, critics' reviews tend to be more mixed with pacing and storytelling frequently cited as areas in which Rustler falls short of expectations. Please see the videos above and below, plus Epic Games' store listing for more details.
