Mobile Internet Device with a full keyboard
The Korean company UMID has announced their entry into the burgeoning sub-netbook category of computers. This device weighs just 315 grams and has a 4.8 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel touchscreen, an Intel Atom CPU running at 1.1GHz or 1.33GHz, 8GB to 32GB of solid state storage, and 512MB to 1GB of RAM. It also has a single mini USB port, a Micro-SD card slot, 1.3MP camera, and a space for a USIM card. The UMID MID also sports a wide array of connectivity options, with support for WiBro, HSDPA, WiMAX, WiFi, and Bluetooth. Thanks to DMB and DVB-T support, it can also pick up digital TV in Europe, Korea, and Japan. The tiny machine can run XP, Vista or Linux.
The company has yet to release word on pricing or release date.
