NVIDIA plans to show-off Tegra 2 during CES 2010

CES can be the perfect venue to showcase this next-gen technology from NVIDIA

NVIDIA is planning to bring out the next-gen Tegra 2 technology to the world and there cannot be a better platform to show it off than the CES – probably world’s largest electronics tradeshow. CES 2010 will be held at Las Vegas.

The Tegra 2 will be launched for tablet PCs, smartbooks, netbooks and Mobile Internet Devices in the first half of 2010 then smartphones in the second half – as reported by Netbooked. This platform should be much faster than the first Tegra platform.

NVIDIA managed to announce Tegra 2 even before the launch of Tegra 1. Tegra is supposedly the world’s smallest and lowest power computer-on-a-chip which delivers desktop-class Internet browsing with Flash video and animation acceleration, and up to 1080p HD video playback. It supports always-on operation for instant access to the Internet and provides up to 5 times the battery life of current netbooks.

Tegra 2 should support an ARM Cortex 9 processor.
