Dell customers want to get their faulty GPU’s get repaired
Some entry’s of the Direct2Dell blog say that owners of Dell notebooks with defective GPU think that the released BIOS update is not enough to clear the problems.
We already know that there are some Nvidia graphic chips which are faulty and those are integrated in notebooks. Even some Dell notebooks are affected and the manufacturer tried to correct the problem by releasing a BIOS update.
This update increased the fan speeds and this shall protect from the error. The Direct2Dell blog says that some owners of affected notebooks dissatisfied with this solution.
It gets pointed that this is a hardware error and it can not get fixed by a software update. Furthermore, the increased fan speeds increase loudness as well and probably battery runtime shrinks.
Other users think that Dell wants to avoid that the error happens during warranty time and they want a lifetime warranty because it is a hardware problem.
