Is Lenovo bringing the first N470 to the market?

The new Ideapad is spotted with a 1.83 GHz processor

Lenovo makes it a point to constantly update its Ideapad line-up as this is one of the most popular netbook brands not only within Lenovo, but also in the whole PC market. Liliputing reports rumors of a new Ideapad model called S10-3 which sports the upcoming 1.83GHz Intel Atom N470 Pine Trail platform. Apparently FCC has a profile of this netbook manufactured by Quanta. There’s another document that describes the system as Lenovo notebook computer – as reported by Liliputing.

The S10-3 should be available in two formats – the netbook (S10-3) and the Tablet (S10-3t). A little more investigation by Liliputing shows that these two models indeed exist and are each one is powered by a 1.83GHz processor.

This can make this Lenovo netbook the first to sport an N470 if gets released in time. The Atom N470 is the second in line of the Pineview CPUs Intel started releasing recently. The first Pineview was N450 and it already has quite a few models up its sleeve.

The N470 will have the same technology as the N450 of integrating both the CPU and GPU in the same die, bringing down the total chip number from three to two. This did not bring much additional power to the N450, instead made it less energy-consumer. The N470 should change this and bring performance as well as with its 1.83GHz clock speed, significantly more than the clock speed of 1.66GHz of N450 (which is incidentally same as that of the N280).

Neither the price nor the availability is known for this netbook. FCC also has only sketches and not any pictures. I suppose it should be out in the later first half of this year as N470 is also expected at the same time.
