A number of Galaxy Z Flip6 specifications have leaked on X giving us a deeper look into the upcoming smartphone. Per the leak, the device will feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and bring up to 50% more RAM than its predecessor. Additionally, the phone will see the latest protection from Gorilla and bring a new main sensor.

Samsung is reportedly announcing the new Galaxy Z series phones this summer with the launch date set for sometime in mid-July. The new Z series is rumored to include the Galaxy Z Flip6, Z Fold6, and Z Fold6 Ultra. Specifications for the clamshell Z Flip6 have now leaked on X thanks to @TheGalox_ (via Wccftech).

Starting with the screen, the leaker claims that the Galaxy Z Flip6 will have a 3.9-inch cover display and a 6.7-inch inner screen alongside an “improved hinge and internal layout”. The outer display supposedly relies on the Gorilla Armor for protection, the same layer that gave the Galaxy S24 Ultra much better glare handling than the competition and tougher scratch resistance.

That said, this is not the first time that we have heard about a larger Z Flip6 cover display vs the Z Flip5 as industry analyst Ross Young has previously stated the dimension in November 2023. However, Young’s report was refuted by SmartPrix’s claim that the Galaxy Z Flip6 keeps the cover display size of the Z Flip5 (Available on Amazon). So, the exact size of the Galaxy Z Flip6’s cover panel is still up in the air.

Moving on, the Galaxy Z Flip6 will allegedly run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with a bigger cooling system. There could also be SKUs with 12 GB of RAM. For reference, the Galaxy Z Flip5 features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 with 8 GB of memory.

In addition to a more powerful processor in the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the Galaxy Z Flip6 could also bring an 8% larger 4000 mAh cell. Although the Galaxy Z Flip5 showed a good battery life of nearly 11 hours of websurfing in our review, Samsung’s clamshell phones lag behind the traditional Galaxy S series devices. For instance, the Galaxy S23, the smallest S-series phone of last-gen, managed a websurfing runtime of over 15 hours per our testing. So, the report of the Galaxy Flip6 bringing a bigger battery alongside a more efficient processor is much welcome news.

On the camera side, the Galaxy Z Flip6 appears to pack a 50 MP primary sensor and a 12 MP secondary shooter on the back. The latest report seems to confirm a rumor from last year that revealed Samsung’s plan to upgrade the primary shooter from 12 to 50 MP.

Finally, the Galaxy Z Flip6 will reportedly feature Galaxy AI and boast 7 years of updates aligning the phone with the Galaxy S24 smartphones.

All in all, the Galaxy Z Flip6 is shaping up to be a rather substantial upgrade over the Galaxy Z Flip5. But, as is the case with unconfirmed reports, you shouldn’t take any of the information presented here at face value.
