The Acer Swift X 16 laptop with a Ryzen 9 7940HS CPU, an RTX 4050 GPU, 16 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of storage is down by $300 on B&H Photo. The resulting price of $1,199 is the lowest rate ever for the 16-incher (via slickdeals). 

While we have reviewed the Acer Swift X 14 (Buy the non-OLED SKU on Amazon) and not the 16-inch variant, the Acer Swift X 16 on sale should make for an excellent purchase taking into consideration the level of hardware on offer.

Among the key selling points of the Acer Swift X 16 is the 16-inch OLED display. The panel boasts a resolution of 3.2K, a taller 16:10 aspect ratio, a 120 Hz refresh rate, 400 nits of brightness, and NVIDIA G-SYNC. Coupled with 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 gamut, the display is plenty capable for both work and play.

On the inside, the Acer Swift X 16 features a high-end Ryzen 9 7940HS CPU and a 75 W RTX 4050 GPU. Our testing shows that the Ryzen 9 7940HS with its 8 Zen 4 cores and a boost clock of 5.2 GHz resides in the upper echelon of mobile processors. For instance, the CPU managed to get Cinebench R23 single-core and multi-core scores of 1,787 and 16,952 respectively. Combined with the RTX 4050 GPU which should deliver good frame rates in the vast majority of games at FHD resolution, the Acer Swift X 16 is powerful enough for both gaming and content production workloads.

When it comes to ports, the Acer Swift X 16 packs a nice selection of two USB 4, two Type-A, one HDMI 2.1, and a microSD card reader. Yes, we would have loved to see a full-sized SD slot and RJ45 but the ports available are not bad. Other notable details include an FHD webcam, a Windows Hello-certified fingerprint scanner, a large trackpad under a backlit keyboard, and a 76 Wh battery
