Fengmi R1c Nano ultra short throw projector now available
Fengmi has launched the R1c Nano ultra short throw projector in China. The gadget is a cheaper, lower-spec version of the R1c model, which arrived at the same time. Both projectors have an ALPD laser light source, with the maximum brightness of the R1c Nano at 450 CIVA lumens, or 1,050 ANSI lumens; the R1c has a peak brightness of 1,400 ANSI lumens.
The R1c Nano has a 2,000:1 contrast ratio and a shorter 0.23:1 throw ratio. Fengmi suggests that this enables you to project images onto your desk when the projector is mounted vertically on a stand. Like the R1c, the Nano has a native 1080p resolution with 4K decoding. The gadget has a pair of built-in 5W speakers, compatible with Dolby Audio and DTS:HD. The projector runs on FengOS, allowing you to control the device with voice commands or integrate it into your Xiaomi Mijia Smart Home network.
Fengmi, also known as Formovie, suggests that you could use the projector for gaming, with an HDMI ARC port and a 40 ms input lag, though that is a high value for a gaming projector. Other ports on the 200 x 200 x 80 mm (~7.9 x 7.9 x 3.1-in) square projector include USB-A and USB-C. The Fengmi R1c Nano projector is now available at the launch price of 2,999 yuan (~US$431) and is typically expected to retail for 3,499 yuan (~US$503). It is unclear whether or when the product could launch in other markets.
