Acer TravelMate P6 (2021) in review: Possibly one of the best Iris Xe Graphics G7 performances seen with the Core i7-1165G7 so far

In our review of the new Acer TravelMate P6, we observed that this business laptop's Iris Xe Graphics G7 iGPU in the Core i7-1165G7 is among the best implementations compared to the competition. The Acer TravelMate P6 also brings in several other improvements to the overall experience, which have been exhaustively detailed in our full review.

We recently had a chance to take the new Acer TravelMate P6 (2021) for a spin and came out largely impressed. With Intel Evo-certification, Acer has improved upon almost every aspect of the device right from the build quality to the display. The 16:10 aspect ratio display with a near-100% sRGB coverage is a welcome improvement over last year's TravelMate P6.

Though the CPU performance isn't really chart-topping compared to other Core i7-1165G7 laptops we've reviewed, this year's TravelMate P6 impresses with respect good numbers from the onboard Iris Xe Graphics G7 96 EUs GPU.

In 3DMark and 3DMark 11, we noticed that the TravelMate P6 was mostly on par or better than several other devices with a similar configuration with no more than a 6% difference with the Iris Xe Graphics G7 in the Core i7-1185G7 in the Dell Latitude 9420 2-in-1.

A similar performance was observed in the gaming tests as well. Though not really a gaming device, the TravelMate P6 does its best to rival those of the likes of the Razer Book 13 in most gaming tests. However, the performance is not quite consistent resulting in frequent fps dips while running The Witcher 3 stress test at 1080p Ultra.

Overall, with tolerable surface temperatures and low noise emissions, the new Acer TravelMate P6 seems to be a good all-rounder that can cater to business on the move. That being said, there is a lot of scope for improvement, particularly with respect to Wi-Fi throughput, memory card speeds, and outdoor visibility.
