Acer TravelMate Vero powered by Intel Tiger Lake aims to bring sustainability to the enterprise, allows businesses to use their own branding at boot
Earlier this year, Acer announced that it is taking a slew of environment-friendly initiatives named Earthion to promote renewable energy use and recyclable product and packaging right from the design to the supply chain.
Acer has been offering TravelMate laptops for the business segment for quite some time now, and we've also reviewed the TravelMate P6 recently. Now, Acer is announcing a more sustainable TravelMate offering, the TravelMate Vero.
Acer said that the TravelMate Vero (TMV15-51) is geared towards organizations that place a high priority on sustainable practices. The laptop's chassis is made up of 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic and is designed to be easily repaired. The packaging is 100% recyclable as well. The TravelMate Vero comes equipped with an Intel 11th gen Core i7 Tiger Lake processor, up to 16 GB DDR4 RAM, and up to a 1 TB SSD.
Being a business laptop, Acer has endowed the TravelMate Vero with a good assortment of security features. These include a discrete TPM module, Kensington lock, and Windows Hello-compatible biometric authentication. Acer also bundles the ProShield Plus app that enables users and IT admins to manage various security features such as biometrics, file encryption and decryption, USB filtering, and more.
The TravelMate Vero also allows customizing the boot logo as per the organization's branding, though companies need to contact Acer separately for the same. Acer supplies a Commercial BIOS that offers a lot more flexibility than conventional BIOSs including the ability to lock or rollback BIOS versions, update on non-Windows platforms, and support for CHIPSEC validation.
The Acer TravelMate Vero (TMV15-51) will be in North America in January 2022 starting from US$899.99 and in EMEA in Q1 2022 starting at €919.
