Acer upgrades TravelMate lineup with Intel 12th gen vPro and AMD Ryzen 6000 Pro options
Acer recently announced new upgrades to its TravelMate lineup of business laptops. These include the new TravelMate P2, TravelMate P4 with Intel vPro, TravelMate P4 with AMD Ryzen Pro, and TravelMate Spin P4 with Intel vPro and TravelMate Spin P4 with AMD Ryzen Pro.
Security features across all TravelMate models include discrete TPM 2.0, an IR camera with privacy shutter, and a fingerprint reader. The AMD versions also feature the Microsoft Pluton security processor. All SKUs are tested for MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability.
Acer TravelMate P2
Acer is upgrading the TraveMate P2 series after a two-year gap, and it is now available in 14-inch (1.6 kg) and 15.6-inch (1.7 kg) screen sizes. The TravelMate P2 14-inch features a FHD IPS display and is powered by Intel 12th gen vPro offerings up to the Core i7. The TravelMate P2 can be configured with up to 32 GB of DDR4 RAM and up to 1 TB PCIe Gen4 SSD. The 15.6-inch version is also similarly spec'd.
According to Acer, the TravelMate P2 is made of post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic and features an OceanGlass touchpad made with recycled ocean-bound plastic with a UV texture layer to provide a glass-like feeling.
Acer TravelMate P4
The new TravelMate P4 will be available in both Intel vPro and in Ryzen Pro 6000 options. The 14-inch (1.58 kg) and 16-inch (1.68 kg) Intel versions can be configured with vPro processors up to the Core i7. They both feature 16:10 1,920x1,200 displays and can be configured with up to 32 GB DDR4 RAM along with up to a 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD. Acer claims a battery life of up to 13 hours for the 14-inch variant and up to 9.4 hours for the 16-incher.
The TravelMate P4 AMD also comes in 14-inch (1.48 kg) and 16-inch (1.68 kg) options with similar display specifications and battery life claims as their Intel counterparts. Up to an AMD Ryzen 7 Pro APU can be configured along with up to 32 GB of DDR5 RAM and up to a 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD.
The Intel variants of the new TravelMate P4 also offer optional 4G LTE in addition to Wi-Fi 6E with Bluetooth 5.2. LTE options are not indicated for the AMD versions.
Acer TravelMate Spin P4
The TravelMate Spin P4 is a convertible business laptop that is being offered only in a 14-inch screen size (1.58 kg) for both Intel vPro and AMD Ryzen 6000 Pro variants. The TravelMate Spin P4's ant-glare 16:10 display offers a 1,920x1,200 resolution and supports AES 1.0 pen and touch input.
Other specifications are similar to the TravelMate P4. Once again, both Intel and AMD versions offer Wi-Fi- 6E but 4G LTE options are offered only in the Intel variant.
