The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Clothes Dryer 1S is now crowdfunding in China. You can either mount the device to the ceiling, or embed it to make the dryer “invisible”. The gadget is 99 mm (~3.90-in) thick and can be lowered by up to 1,100 mm (~43.3-in); you can save your desired height for future use. The dryer is 496 mm (~19.5-in) wide, with telescopic rails which can be extended from 1,292 to 2,200 mm (~50.9 to 86.6-in).
You can use 38 holes to attach clothes on hangers to the rails, with steel wire rope ensuring the gadget can handle loads up to 35 kg (~77.2 lbs). The Mijia Smart Clothes Dryer 1S can be controlled with an accompanying remote control, Xiao AI voice commands or in the Mijia app. You can also link the device to other smart home gadgets; for example, you could trigger the dryer to lower when a cycle ends on your smart washing machine. Safety features include automatic stopping if an obstacle is detected and short circuit or overweight detection. The product also comes with an integrated 20 W LED light with stepless dining and a night light timer.
You can now pledge 899 yuan (~US$130) to the crowdfunding campaign to receive the Xiaomi Mijia Smart Clothes Dryer 1S. The product is expected to retail for 999 yuan (~US$145) in the future. It is unclear whether or when Xiaomi intends to launch the device in other markets.
