Pantheone Audio Obsidian speaker now available

Pantheone Audio has launched the Obsidian speaker in the UK and Australia. The speaker contains a sub-woofer and two tweeters, supporting streaming rates of up to 24 bits/192 kbps. You can wirelessly cast content to the device via Apple AirPlay or Spotify Connect and connect gadgets via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.

The Pantheone Audio Obsidian speaker has been launched. The gadget contains a 5.25-in 40 W subwoofer and two 1-in silk dome tweeters, each with a 20 W output. The sound system’s frequency response ranges from 55 to 220,000 Hz, and the gadget supports streaming rates of up to 24 bits/192 kbps.

Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity lets you cast content to the device via Apple AirPlay or Spotify Connect. Alternatively, you can connect a gadget wirelessly via Wi-Fi or physically via an AUX mini jack. Compatible streaming services include Amazon Music, Tidal and TuneIn, and the speaker supports Amazon Alexa voice commands. You can link up to eight Pantheone Audio speakers for an enhanced sound, with the ability to sync and manage speakers around your home in the Pantheone app. The speaker has an average 15-hour battery life on a single charge; a full recharge takes around two hours, while a 50% charge can be reached in 30 minutes.

The sculptural speaker was designed to mimic nature with a high-density resin shell. The device, available in black and white, measures 359 x 258 x 178 mm (~14.1 x 10.2 x 7.0-in) and weighs around 5 kg (~11.0 lbs). You can buy the Pantheone Audio Obsidian speaker in Australia and the UK for $1,399 or £1,199 (~US$1,495). It is unclear whether or when the device could reach other markets.
