Two Radeon Vega logos have been unearthed on the trademarks section of the Justia website. Surprisingly, there is no red present in the two trademark images: One of them is colored blue and the other is monochrome. It’s not known what product AMD might be planning on using the images with, if any.

Update April 30: The 3D "V" logo has appeared as an image sample with the USPTO and has been used for the workstation graphics card Radeon Pro WX 9100. An AMD promo video for the same hardware also features the blue 3D symbol.

The Radeon Vega “V” symbol from AMD is a very familiar logo in the gaming world. The trademarked symbol is made up of two triangular shapes that are joined in a corner to form the letter “V”. AMD has strayed away from the color red at times; for instance gold and blue have been used for the Radeon Vega Frontier Edition graphics card.

The two new logos (see below), which have recently been passed on to examiners as part of the trademark process, have a three-dimensional quality to them: As the database description points out “two three-dimensional triangular prism shapes”. It might just be AMD covering all the possible bases for trademarking the Vega logo, or it could point to something new coming from the mostly red team.

There has been a report about Vega 9, which is not currently part of AMD’s Radeon Vega lineup (it jumps from Vega 8 to RX Vega 10). Perhaps if AMD is refreshing some of its Vega-related hardware then the new logos could be associated with that development. There is little else to glean from the trademark records, but maybe there’s a surprise coming to the Vega series.
