Rumor | iQOO Neo7 SE will launch as a smartphone powered by the new MediaTek Dimensity 8200 processor

iQOO delivered on rumors of its unleashing a version of its flagship smartphone with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processor on a field of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1- or 8+ Gen 1-powered devices in 2022 with the Neo7. The smartphone also stands out as it also has one of the best main rear cameras (on paper, at least) from its brand thus far, yet started at the equivalent of ~US$370 on its launch.

Now, the Neo7 might lend some of that potential magic to an upcoming SE variant. According to the eminent tipster Digital Chat Station, this device is on the way with the model number PD2238 and the upcoming Dimensity 8200 SoC.

Despite its probable sub-premium status, this silicon is backed to go as high as 3.1GHz in terms of maximum clock-speed - even though its 8100 predecessor is rated for 2.85GHz at most.

In terms of the rest of its specs, the 6 SE launched as a version of its corresponding Neo-series flagship with a slightly less premium Snapdragon 870 platform; therefore, we just might be able to expect things like a large battery with 120W charging from its successor.

Indeed, according to Digital Chat Station, this is indeed the case. As for availability, the leaker asserts that the Neo7 SE might debut in China by December 2022 - which is also when the next-gen flagship 11 series from the same brand is projected to hit the Indian market.

On that note, the Neo6 SE has set the potentially encouraging precedent of also making it to this market, albeit with a re-brand to the Neo6 Global Edition. Then again, this is all still the stuff of speculation, as MediaTek has yet to so much as make the 8200 official.
