Hardly any time has passed since Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 12 series, which served as a showcase for the new MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset. However, Digital Chat Station continues to speculate on the Redmi K60 series, which GSMArena alleges has reached Design Validation Testing (DVT) in its development. If that is the case, then Xiaomi has not started mass-producing Redmi K60 handsets yet.
Regardless, Digital Chat Station claims that the Redmi K60 series may debut the Dimensity 8200, another new MediaTek chipset. Purportedly, the iQOO Neo7 SE will rely on the same chipset, discussed separately. Although MediaTek has not revealed the Dimensity 8200 yet, the chipset is rumoured to mirror the Dimensity 9000 by containing a Cortex-X2 prime CPU core clocked at 3.1 GHz.
Additionally, Digital Chat Station reports that the Redmi K60 series will offer a 48 MP primary camera with OIS, as well as a single front-facing camera mounted behind a centred punch hole. Moreover, the leaker believes that Xiaomi has designed the regular Redmi K60 around a 5,500 mAh battery and a QHD display, which would be quite the pairing for a lower mid-range smartphone. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen when Xiaomi will announce the Redmi K60 series, particularly as it has to Xiaomi 13 series to bring to market too.
