Redmi K60E officially confirmed to debut with the new MediaTek Dimensity 8200
Xiaomi somehow manages to be among the first OEMs to debut new silicon from both Qualcomm and MediaTek, and that trend looks guaranteed to continue in the future. With the Xiaomi 13 series scheduled to debut with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 this week, Xiaomi has now confirmed it will be among the first adopters of MediaTek's new chipset, the Dimensity 8200.
The MediaTek Dimensity 8200 debuted earlier today as MediaTek's successor to the much-vaunted Dimensity 8100. The Redmi K50 was one of the first phones to launch with the Dimensity 8100, and that will continue with the Redmi K60 series, with Xiaomi now confirming that the Redmi K60E will launch with the new Dimensity 8200.
Taking to the Redmi Weibo handle this morning, the company wrote:
"K60E is the first batch to be equipped with Dimensity 8200 new flagship core to enjoy high performance, a new member of the family with powerful configuration beyond imagination, and the same ruthless role, so stay tuned."
Or something to that effect anyway. In any case, the Redmi K60E is coming, and it will be equipped with the Dimensity 8200. If the Dimensity 8100 on the Redmi K50 is any indication, the Redmi K60E should perform in the same ballpark as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, while avoiding the Qualcomm chipset's efficiency failures.
