The iPhone Ultra is just over a week away, and a lot of information about the foldable has been circulating, either through leaks or rumors. The latest is that the phone will come with MagSafe.

Apple’s ‘Surprise and shine’ event is scheduled for next week, and by now, it’s pretty certain that the company’s first foldable, reportedly called the iPhone Ultra, will be unveiled at the event. We know that Apple has had to make some compromises due to the form factor, but a key feature that has become a tradition is returning.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman spoke with Tom’s Guide about the iPhone Ultra. He believes that the phone will come with MagSafe, which means it will work with all MagSafe accessories. This would allow buyers to use the accessories they already have, or at least most of them. It would be interesting to see how the magnets hold up when the phone is in its unfolded form.

The iPhone Ultra will have the same form factor as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 (buy on Amazon). The latter does not have any magnets inside, which is true for the entire series of Samsung’s latest foldables.

This comes in addition to the recent report that claimed support for a special version of the Apple Pencil that has been developed specifically for the iPhone Ultra. This Pencil is said to attach magnetically to the metal frame and also charge through this connection.

The 'Surprise and shine' event is scheduled for September 9 and will be livestreamed on Apple’s website, YouTube, and Apple TV.
