Xiaomi's Mijia sub-brand is home to all sorts of wonky gadgets and the latest in the least of products to debut under the brand's umbrella is the new Xiaomi Mijia Smart Dumbbells, seemingly for aerobic training at home.
The Mijia Smart Dumbbells come in a box with two bars and what appears to be four adjustable plates that can be clipped on to the bars. The dumbbells are white, with a black bar and a power button on one of them. Said black bar displays training data, including information like calories burnt and a timer. A built-in 3-axis gyroscope and accelerometer are present as well for movement tracking.
As with all fitness gadgets, the Mijia Smart Dumbbells communicate with the Mi Home app and can store historical training data, provide reports, and generate training guidance resources. Metrics such as training mode and intensity can also be set via the Mi Home app.
Each dumbbell weighs a maximum of 2 KG—the standalone bar weighs 1 KG, with each attachable weight plate weighing an extra 0.5 KG each. Power is supplied by two AA alkaline batteries housed within a hidden compartment and touted to last 177 days. Pricing is currently set at CNY 99 ($14).
