Xiaomi releases new flagship globally days after Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra debut

Xiaomi has now released the Xiaomi 17 Ultra globally. Arriving over two months after its initial debut, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra retains much of the hardware that Xiaomi included with its Chinese release. Unfortunately, the 6.800 mAh capacity underpinning the device's Chinese variant has made way for a 6,000 mAh alternative.
Still, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra contains a 20% larger battery than Samsung's Galaxy S26 Ultra (curr. $1,299 on Amazon). Additionally, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra continues to support 50 W wireless and 90 W wired charging. Likewise, Xiaomi equips the global model with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 flash storage and a 3,500-nit AMOLED display with a 1-120 Hz variable refresh rate.
Moreover, the device also features the same 50 MP primary, ultra-wide and front-facing cameras that we reviewed in January, as well as an identical 200 MP telephoto camera. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra starts at €1,499 (~$1,710) with 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage in a choice of Black, Starlit Green and White, colour options. Alternatively, the device is configurable with 1 TB of storage while retaining 16 GB of RAM for €1,699 (~$2,005).
Xiaomi is also offering discounted accessories with pre-orders placed until March 14. At launch, the Xiaomi Tag, Photography Kit, Photography Kit Pro and 120 W charger will be available for €0.99, €9.90, €99.90 and €29.90, respectively, instead of €14.99, €99.90, €199.90 and €59.99. Please see Xiaomi's website for more details.
