Xiaomi releases new affordable smartwatch internationally with 2,000-nit AMOLED display and NFC

Xiaomi has quietly released the Redmi Watch 6 and Redmi Watch 6 NFC internationally. To recap, the company indicated last week that a global launch would be occurring soon. Shortly beforehand, the Redmi Watch 6 NFC appeared on Hungarian retailers with the same hardware as its Chinese release over five months earlier.
Now, Xiaomi has officially started selling the Redmi Watch 6 series in Poland, Romania and Thailand. Replacing the Redmi Watch 5 (curr. $139 on Amazon), the Redmi Watch 6 combines a 2.07-inch and 2,000-nit AMOLED display with a 550 mAh battery it rates for up to 24 days of battery life between charges. Additionally, the smartwatch supports GNSS location services and comes pre-loaded with over 150 sports modes.
Moreover, Xiaomi clarifies that the Redmi Watch 6 NFC supports tap-to-pay with Mastercard and Visa cards. Unfortunately, its website that should list all participating banks returns a 404 error at the time of publication. Currently, the standard Redmi Watch 6 is available in Poland, Romania and Thailand for PLN 449 (~$123), RON 519 (~$115) and THB 3,190 (~$97), discounted from a THB 4,190 (~$128) MSRP.
Meanwhile, the Redmi Watch 6 NFC is only available in Poland for the time being for PLN 499 (~$137), an 11% increase on its non-NFC-enabled sibling. Xiaomi has not confirmed yet when the Redmi Watch 6 or Redmi Watch 6 NFC will reach other markets.
