Huawei's new Apple Watch Ultra 3 rival goes global with up to 10-day battery life

Alongside the affordable Watch Fit 5, Huawei has introduced the premium Pro version of the smartwatch. This is the company's answer to the Apple Watch Ultra 3, and when compared, Huawei's offering has some advantages.

The battery life, for example, gives a big edge to the Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro. As the brand claims, the smartwatch can offer up to 10 days of battery life, with the typical rating standing at 7 days. Apple's Watch Ultra 3, on the other hand, can go up to 72 hours in the low-power mode.

Huawei touts that the 1.92-inch AMOLED display of the Fit 5 Pro has 1.8mm bezels, making the screen-to-body ratio stand at 83%. This screen has a peak brightness rating of 3,000 nits, and it's protected by a 2.5D sapphire glass. However, the Apple Watch Ultra 3, in comparison, has a more pixel-dense OLED display, and it can also reach just 1 nit brightness and 1Hz refresh rate when needed.

Another key highlight of the Watch Fit 5 Pro is the company's upgraded TrueSense System. With it, Huawei promises "pro-level" health monitoring, and the brand notes that the smartwatch can do ECG analysis and even detect arterial stiffness. For fitness-focused users, there are over 100 workout modes, and the wearable can connect to third-party fitness apps like Strava and FiiT.

Moreover, the Mini-workout partner is a new addition to the Watch Fit 5 series. Huawei wants to encourage its users to "exercise anytime, anywhere" with it, and the feature brings a total of 30 guided movements that target different parts of the body.

Huawei's Watch Fit 5 Pro is available in three color options, and in the EU, Huawei is offering the smartwatch with a price tag of €299, around $351, making it more affordable than the Apple Watch Ultra 3. There are launch discounts and promotions available for some regions.
