Garmin releases new improvements to high-end smartwatches with latest update

Hardly any time has passed since Garmin delivered Beta Version 22.27 for the Enduro 3, Fenix E, Fenix 8, Fenix 8 Pro and the Quatix 8 (curr. $1,299 on Amazon), among other smartwatches. Despite that, the company has already moved ahead with a fresh update for Beta Program participants.
This time, Garmin has packaged five bug fixes into an update being distributed as Beta Version 22.28. The associated forum post warns that Dive and ECG features remain disabled with this build. In other words, more v22.xx beta builds are likely to come before Garmin transitions development to a new stable update. For reference, the new beta update is said to address the following issues that were present in Beta Version 22.27:
- Fixes alert volume not changing when changing system volume.
- Fixes crash when using map after using a Z10 or Z30.
- Fixes map data screen disappearing after recalculating a course after going off course.
- Fixes seconds not showing on the watch face when color shift is active.
- Fixes Wi-Fi password input not showing the English keyboard.
According to Garmin, Beta Version 22.28 began rolling out only a few hours ago. Nonetheless, the company claims to have issued the update to 100% of eligible smartwatches. If that is not the case for you, then you can trigger Beta Version 22.28 manually by tapping 'Check for Updates' after navigating through the Main menu to Settings, System and then to Software Update. Please see Garmin's forum post for more details.
