Xiaomi has just updated the Poco F series with the Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Ultra globally. Now, it seems that the company is on the verge of replacing the Poco M7 Pro 5G with a new model (curr. $220.99 on Amazon).
To recap, early details about the Poco M8 Pro emerged in August. At the time, the model number shown indicated that the Poco M8 Pro was a rebranded Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus. Now, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has certified that same device for sale in the US. As the images below show, the FCC refers to '2510EPC8BG' as a production unit, hinting that a full release is close.
Moreover, the FCC reveals that the Poco M8 Pro runs HyperOS 2.0 rather than the newer HyperOS 3. Also, initial documentation mentions a 6,330 mAh rated battery capacity that Xiaomi is likely to market as 6,500 mAh. This battery will be joined by 100 W wired charging, as well as a 5G chipset, 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB of storage.
At this stage, all signs point to the Poco M8 Pro being the global version of the Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus by another name. Potentially, Xiaomi may distinguish the two devices in some areas, though. For instance, previous rumours suggested that the Poco M8 Pro would deviate from its Redmi Note sibling in terms of camera hardware. Full pricing and availability remain unknown for now.
