Reviews for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G

75.8% Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G Smartphone Review: 120 Hz AMOLED and capable 108 MP shooter for less than ₹20,000 (€200) | Notebookcheck
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G is a well-rounded device powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6080 SoC that offers a lot of modern smartphone features including 5G, 120 Hz AMOLED display, and a 108 MP triple-camera for ₹18,999 (€210). While the experience with the Note 13 5G is largely positive, it is clear that Xiaomi had to cut a lot of corners to tame the pricing.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G Long Term Review: Strengths, Drawbacks, And Alternatives
Source: Cashify English
So, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 is an exciting device after its launch over a year ago. You get a stylish design, a vibrant display, decent performance, and great battery life. The camera is okay for casual use, but it should have a better performance and an OIS feature for video recording. I think its biggest drawbacks are the lack of stereo speakers, HDR support, and the somewhat cluttered software experience. But these things have been done in Xiaomi Redmi Note 14, which is going to launch in India soon and has already launched in China. If you’re looking for a balanced mid-range phone under 15,000 rupees, the Redmi Note 13 5G is a solid choice.

60% Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G review: Struggling to keep up with the competition
Source: Expert Reviews English
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G is proof of how good budget phones have gotten recently. Go back in time just a few short years, and you couldn’t get anything near this much value for the price. The trouble is that Xiaomi’s rivals haven’t stood still, either. And that makes the Redmi Note 13 5G a tougher sell. If you can spend just a little more money, both the Nothing Phone (2a) and the Google Pixel 6a offer substantially better performance and, especially in the case of the latter, better photography.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 13
Source: DxOMark English
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 battery had an overall average performance, but this version showed a much stronger performance in autonomy and efficiency than its 5G counterpart, the Redmi Note 13 5G. Under moderate usage, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 lasted more than 56 hours, compared with the 50 1/2 hours of the 5G version. The device showed great autonomy in most outdoor use cases, except when browsing social apps. In most of the calibrated use cases, the Redmi Note 13’s autonomy was around average, while the autonomy of video streaming and calling was considerably above average. The Redmi Note 13’s 33W charger, which comes with the device, was able to fully charge the phone in 1 hour and 12 minutes, placing it in the top half of our database.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G Battery test
Source: DxOMark English
Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G battery’s overall score was hampered by weak performances in autonomy and efficiency, when compared to its predecessor the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 5G. Despite its large 5000 mAh battery, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G’s autonomy performance struggled in moderate usage, with the device lasting 50 hours and 24 minutes, which ranked the device in the bottom half of our database. In addition, the device’s loss of 5.3% of power per night in our indoor test was relatively high compared to other devices, indicating an elevated consumption even during rest mode. Moreover, the device’s battery gauge was inaccurate. As the screen displayed 20% of power left, our experts measured actual remaining power of 16.9%. However, autonomy was relatively decent during gaming and intense usage.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G Review | Upgrade to the Pro?
Source: Tech Spurt English
Reviewing Xiaomi's Redmi Note 13 5G budget smartphone, costing under £300 in the UK. This well-specced phone lacks some of the polish of the Pro version, but the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G still boasts a 108MP camera, HyperOS shenanigans, a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen and 5000mAh battery. But how's the gaming experience, is that camera any good, and does the battery life suck? I've been testing it as my full time phone for a week now so here's the review! My take-away verdict is that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G makes quite a few compromises to reach that sub-£300 budget price. For one, gamers will be disappointed if trying to play anything more complex than PubG. Genshin Impact is very much a no-no! Battery life has been hit and miss too.

92% Redmi Note 13 and Note 13 5G Smartphones Review
Source: Root Nation English
Summing up, it can be said that the Redmi Note 13 and Redmi Note 13 5G are quite decent smartphones for their segment. Among the advantages, we can highlight the excellent AMOLED display, stylish exterior design, decent level of performance, and battery life. The cameras are also good for this price range. As for the drawbacks, the glossy material of the body stands out. It’s a bit of a mixed bag – it looks beautiful and stylish, but from a practical standpoint, it’s not ideal, as fingerprints, dust, and smudges tend to accumulate on the body (or its individual parts).

Xiaomi’s Redmi smartphones have always been a great choice for people on a budget. If they’re within your budget, and you’re not looking to spend too much on a phone, these two devices are solid choices. The 5G model is the better phone of the two, though. I’m not saying that just because it supports 5G connectivity. The camera performance is slightly better, the performance in general is better, and I even liked the case it comes with the phone a bit more. So, if you have the option to get the 5G model over the 4G one, go for it. Both of them are worth the money, though, I’d say.

78% Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G review
Source: Tech Advisor English
The Redmi Note 13 5G covers a lot of bases for £279, and there have been a couple of subtle but welcome design improvements over previous models. I still rate its 120Hz OLED display quite highly, too. On the other hand, its battery life appears to have taken a slight step back, while Xiaomi’s new HyperOS UI is hardly the MIUI upgrade we were hoping for. The choice of processor might represent a modest upgrade, meanwhile, but you can get faster performance for less money elsewhere. Together with a weirdly inconsistent camera setup, the Redmi Note 13 5G doesn’t feel like it’s on quite so solid ground as some of its predecessors. It’s a good phone, but there’s better value to be found elsewhere without looking very far.

However, for one reason or another, it seems Xiaomi made too many compromises with the specs sheet for its own good. We don't get why there are no stereo speakers. The same goes for HDR video support on the display. We can't quite get over the 1080p video capture cap as well. Having tested the phone extensively, we can't say we are totally satisfied with its battery endurance either. The thing is that Xiaomi appears to be working against itself in this particular instance. As we mentioned, you could easily get something like Xiaomi's own Poco X6 and enjoy a much more rounded experience. All things considered, the Redmi Note 13 is not a bad phone in any particular way but is arguably not the best value package at its price point.

The Redmi Note 13 5G offers modest upgrades without pushing any boundaries. It does face a fair bit of competition in its segment. If your priority lies with a clean Android experience for example, Motorola’s Moto G54 (review) and OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite (review) might seem better options. For cameras, there are some areas where the Redmi Note 13 offers reliable performance, but the Realme 11 5G (review) can offer relatively better results. All said and done, the Redmi Note 13 5G comes across as a solid choice if you value a long-lasting battery, a tall display, reliable performance (including gaming), and relatively fast charging. While design preferences are subjective, I find it to my satisfaction as well.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G vs Pro 5G vs Pro Plus 5G | Which is best for me?
Source: Tech Spurt English
Comparing Xiaomi's Redmi Note 13 5G vs the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and that most premium Pro Plus global smartphone, to see how the camera, battery life etc stacks up. I've already reviewed the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G, and the regular Pro - check back soon for my coverage of the most budget mobile! Now, in some ways these phones are all massively different, starting with the cameras. In our side-by-side test the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G served up the most natural colours. Both Pros are also a step up for low light and HDR shots. However, any kind of motion means blurry photos! Performance also improves as you upgrade from the Redmi Note 13 5G up to the Pro and Pro Plus models. The regular can cope with PubG etc but you'll need a Xiaomi Pro to play Genshin Impact. Battery life is excellent on all three Xiaomi smartphones, but the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and that Plus model boost the charging speeds. And you've also got some bonuses like full water resistance on the Note 13 Pro Plus 5G, great news at this budget phone price.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G Review: cool looks on a budget
Source: Phone Arena English
When you draw the bottom line, the Redmi Note 13 5G comes up as a well balanced phone with solid performance, decent camera quality and very good battery life, all at a reasonable price. The quirky MIUI software, however, seems like the big stumbling block, and we specifically mean the way it kills background apps and fails to deliver push notifications on time for some apps. This issue has been around for nearly a decade, and we have no idea why it's not fixed yet. If you can live with that, the Redmi Note 13 5G seems like a pretty good choice.

80% Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G Review: Generic, Cheap, & Good!
Source: Nextpit EN English
I love my job. I really do! But you simply shouldn't expect me to paint a smartphone like the Redmi Note 13 5G in glowing terms for your mind's eye and pretend that I'm enthusiastically clicking my tongue in the face of an amazing piece of innovative engineering. Instead, the box, which is really neat, can be described with three words: "cheap, generic, good". This is because Xiaomi has once again assembled a smartphone that is easily sufficient for 95 percent of all smartphone users, looks nice, and is also inexpensive with a price tag starting at €279. Honestly speaking, what else should Xiaomi do? For just under €300, you get a smartphone with a great display and decent battery life that has a good camera and an okay processor on board. To be honest, I would have liked to see at least Android 14 onboard and maybe little things like stereo speakers or Wi-Fi 6 support. However, you know what? The Redmi Note 13 Ultra 5G still gets four stars from me. This is because it simply doesn't make any significant mistakes and is a really great, everyday smartphone.

Model:

Redmi Note 13

It is an undeniable fact that the Redmi brand is always known for its value-packed offerings. Well, the start of the year sees the introduction of five new models in the Redmi Note 13 series. Sharing a nearly identical 6.7-inch form factor with slight design and camera variations, the series comprises three Redmi Note 13 Pro models and two more affordable non-Pro versions which includes the model in discussion, the one and only Redmi Note 13. Looking deeper into its design and build, this model sports a boxy design with flat sides. This is clearly evident that the Redmi Note 13 has followed the modern smartphone trend with its design. But that is not all because even with its affordable price, it features a plastic frame and slightly thicker screen borders. However, it is worth noting that the glossy finish on the back, especially evident on the black version, do attracts fingerprints. Having said that, the overall design is still simple and appealing, with conveniently placed power and volume keys, along with a USB-C port, a speaker, and an IR blaster. Talking about its display, this smartphone has been incorporated with a large 6.7-inch OLED display along with a 1080p resolution. The phone also possesses high 120Hz refresh rate for excellent viewing experience. That is not all as the device is acquired with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Furthermore, the display boasts a peak brightness of 1,800 nits. Well, its impressive brightness makes outdoor usage way easier for users and the minimum brightness of 2.4 nits ensures comfortable night-time usage also. So, either way, the phone’s display does a great job.

In terms of its camera setup, the Redmi Note 13 has been equipped with a 108-megapixel main camera followed by an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro shooter, and finally, a selfie camera. It is worth mentioning that the main camera performs decently in various conditions. However, the ultra-wide shots do suffer from noise, especially in low light condition. Furthermore, the selfies seem to have lack of details but still manages to offer pleasing colours though. As far as its processor is concerned, this smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 chip paired with 6GB of RAM. With such processor, the Redmi Note 13 delivers average performance. While it might be sufficient enough for everyday tasks, the chip still falls short in speed as compared to other higher-end models. Having said that, the phone definitely stands out when it comes to battery as it comes in with its impressive 5,000mAh battery. It offers excellent battery life despite aggressive app killing in MIUI. In conclusion, the Redmi Note 13 emerges as a compelling budget smartphone option which combines a large OLED display with decent camera performance, and exceptional battery life at an affordable price. Despite some compromises in build quality and chipset performance, the device still delivers a satisfactory user experience for everyday use. With its competitive pricing and feature set, this smartphone proves to be a worthy contender in the budget smartphone market, catering to users seeking affordability without sacrificing essential features.
