Xiaomi Pad 6 and Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro rumors: Dimensity and Snapdragon SoC mixture with up to 120 W fast-charging support
The appearance of potential new tablets from Xiaomi (and Redmi) in recent EEC listings has sparked quite a bit of speculation, with the latest news coming from various sources in China. There seems to be a strong belief that Xiaomi will take advantage of chips coming from both MediaTek and Qualcomm, while the Xiaomi Pad 5 series had to settle for parts that came just from the latter company (Pad 5: Snapdragon 860; Pad 5 Pro: Snapdragon 870). However, there also appears to be some conflict between commenters on which processors will likely be used, while fans have their fingers crossed for the inclusion of something like an LTPO display with a 144 Hz refresh rate.
The recent listing leak pointed to four different tablets, with one of them likely falling under the Redmi brand. A source on Weibo (arguably "inspired" by Digital Chat Station) has stated that Xiaomi will release three versions (Pad 6/Pad 6 Pro/Pad 6 Pro 5G) of the new tablet in the second half of the year, with the series featuring both Dimensity and Snapdragon chips. Promisingly, the tipster also says that the “high-end version has been upgraded a lot”, which could indicate a top-end Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro model to take on Apple’s iPad Pro. If this is the case, then the frequent suggestions that either a Dimensity 9000 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC will be involved in the Xiaomi Pad 6 range become more credible.
However, no matter if Xiaomi wants to take on the might of the Apple iPad Pro with its own high-powered slate, it would still be wise for the firm to produce a cheaper tablet for its fans. There has been further speculation that a Xiaomi Pad 6/Pad 6 Pro could be fitted with a Dimensity 8100 processor, which is still a great improvement over the processors used in the Pad 5 range but not quite as high-performance as the Dimensity 9000 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and its presence would bring the price tag down a little. Quite a few commenters also seem to be in agreement that at least the flagship tablet of the Xiaomi Pad 6 range will feature 120 W fast-charging support.
