Xiaomi Mi Water Purifier H800G Pro with NFC reader revealed
The Xiaomi Mi Water Purifier H800G Pro has been launched. The company claims that it takes just 4.3 seconds to fill a glass of water, with a 2.12 L per minute output speed.
The water purifier has a 6-stage filtration system with reverse osmosis (RO) technology. The layers include folded PP cotton to remove rust and sediment, a carbon filter to remove excess chlorine and odor and a charcoal filter to improve the taste.
The device has a 2:1 pure to wastewater ratio, and the RO filter element lasts for five years, costing 899 yuan (~US$133) to replace. According to Xiaomi, the long lifetime of the filter is one of several cost efficiencies built into the device.
Other cost-saving features include a dual water outlet allowing you to switch between drinking and general water. Plus, an NFC reader enables you to quantify in the Mijia app how much filtered water you want to release, then tap to dispense.
You can also use the Mijia app to monitor the water quality, such as input temperature and filter status. Frequent cycling ensures your drinking water is never stale, and a smart indicator light on the device tells you when the filter needs replacing.
You can pre-order the Xiaomi Mi Water Purifier H800G Pro in China for 1,899 yuan (~US$282), with a 100 yuan (~US$15) deposit.
