Xiaomi Smart Door Lock M20 launches with Apple HomeKit compatibility and NFC reader
The Xiaomi Smart Door Lock M20 has been launched for pre-sale in China. The device has a fully automatic push-pull handle with an innovative anti-pinch design that ensures your fingers do not get caught as you open the door.
There are seven ways to unlock your door, including via Apple HomeKit and iOS devices, Bluetooth connected mobile devices and an NFC reader. A built-in fingerprint scanner has a 98.94% accuracy rate, plus you can set a password or temporary password that you could share with friends and family. You can use an emergency key to operate the inline C-class lock cylinder, and an indoor emergency knob is fitted to the door.
Also integrated with the gadget is a child-lock, and the device is equipped with a battery with a 10-month lifetime. Safety features of the Xiaomi Smart Door Lock M20 include Mijia app notifications if the door is unlocked and an auto-locking mode. You can use the Mijia app to remotely check the status of your lock, such as if the door is open and the battery charge level.
The lock can withstand up to 6,000 N of pressure, and ten technologies included in the gadget provide safety tools such as encrypted storage of passwords and fingerprints. You can now pre-order the Xiaomi Smart Door Lock M20 in China for 1,899 yuan (~US$285), with a 100 yuan deposit (~US$15). The device is expected to ship from June 15th.
