Last time out, word on the grapevine indicated Xiaomi's plans to launch four new tablets this year, with the lineup ranging from a 10.4-inch model to a massive 14-inch one. More details of Xiaomi's upcoming tablets have now surfaced as well, providing expectant fans with a clearer idea of what to expect from the Xiaomi Pad 6 series.
As revealed by Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 lined up for the Xiaomi Pad 6 series. The leaker tends to differentiate between the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, so it looks quite likely that the chipset in question here is the Samsung-made Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and not the newer SoC. The leaker previously clarified that the most expensive tablet would also be the largest—and most premium, by extension. This particular tablet will likely be positioned as Xiaomi's affordable alternative to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra.
In addition, the leaker appears to indicate that Xiaomi may be planning to equip one of the Xiaomi Pad 6 series models with a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 as well. That flagship tablet is set to arrive with an 8800 mAh or 9000 mAh battery. Comparatively, the Xiaomi Pad 5 was equipped with an 8720 mAh unit. The base Xiaomi Pad 6 seems to bear the model coding "L83", but is reportedly yet to be registered.
