Tencent Games has revealed that Vivo will be the main named sponsor of the PUBG Mobile Club Open 2019 event. The corresponding event from last year (the PUBG Mobile STAR CHALLENGE 2018) reportedly drew 230 million views worldwide; its global finals in Dubai also had live attendance figures of 5000. The Club Open 2019 has already seen its qualifying rounds, which funnels into a Spring Split, in which the competitors will battle for a place in the Split's global final in July this year.
The Club Open also consists of a Fall Split, with its own global final in December 2019. Vivo's involvement in this will be to provide the phones on which competitors in both Splits will play the game in question. These devices may include the Monster, a 12GB device with a 6.41-inch AMOLED screen and a 4000mAh battery that can reportedly charge up to 100% in about 45 minutes. It is sold under Vivo's new sub-brand iQOO, and may be the most powerful phone under it so far.
Vivo also notes that the PUBG Mobile Club Open 2019 will serve to promote this brand and its prowess in mobile gaming experiences in general. As for Tencent, this is not the only gaming-focused partnership it has recently entered into. It is also now collaborating with Razer to improve the gameplay of apps such as PUBG Mobile on this company's hardware (e.g. the Razer Phones and Raiju mobile controller).

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
