The Viture x 8BitDo Ultimate Mobile Gaming Controller is touted as the world's first mobile controller with support for XR glasses. Although it has a design similar to 8BitDo's Bluetooth controller, it connects via USB-C.

Following a tease back in January of a collaboration between 8BitDo and Viture, the two companies have announced the Viture x 8BitDo Ultimate Mobile Gaming Controller. The mobile controller has a design similar to the 8BitDo Ultimate Mobile Gaming Controller released last year but with some major differences.

The Viture x 8BitDo Ultimate Mobile Gaming Controller has a translucent black shell and orange joysticks. However, unlike 8BitDo's own mobile controller which connects via Bluetooth, the Viture x 8BitDo Ultimate Mobile Gaming Controller has a USB-C port. There's no spec sheet available yet so it is impossible to say if it is compatible with both Android smartphones and iPhones.

The Viture x 8BitDo Ultimate Mobile Gaming Controller has customizable buttons and joysticks and adjustable triggers. The product video released doesn't show the back of the controller, so it is not known if it has buttons on the rear. Taking into consideration its similarity to 8BitDo's mobile Bluetooth controller, there's a high chance it has rear buttons.

What makes the new controller special is its support for XR glasses, and according to the product video shared on X, it is the world's first controller with support for XR glasses. This shouldn't be surprising since Viture is known for its XR Glasses such as the Viture Pro (curr. available on Amazon for $399). The controller has a USB-C port on the right grip where owners can plug their VR glasses into.

Viture says owners will be able to play several games from different platforms including the Google Play Store, Netflix, PlayStation Remote Play, Amazon Luna, Xbox Game Pass, and Nvidia GeForce using its VR glasses plugged into the controller.

Neither Viture nor 8BitDo has revealed how much the new controller costs and when it will be available for purchase. However, there's a chance to win one as well as the opportunity to become a beta tester. The winner of the giveaway will be announced in two weeks but there's no date for when the selected beta testers will be revealed.
