After more than a year since it launched on consoles and PCs, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has now made its debut on mobile. The game is available to download via the App Store for iOS users and the Google Play Store for Android users.
Developed by Ubisoft Monpellier, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is one of two Prince of Persia games that launched in 2024. The other, which is titled The Rogue Prince of Persia, was developed by French game studio, Evil Empire which provided DLCs and updates for the hit video game, Dead Cells. However, The Rogue Prince of Persia remains in early access for Windows.
Like The Rogue Prince of Persia, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a side-scrolling game with a protagonist named Sargon. Wielding dual blades, Sargon has time-based powers which he uses to fight against undead soldiers and monsters as he tries to save a kidnapped prince. The game also includes puzzles which players need to solve to progress as well as environmental traps which the Prince of Persia series is known for.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is free to download for mobile but has in-app purchases. The file size on Android is 2.0GB and 3.0GB on iOS and iPad. While it features 100% of the console version of the game, there are new features that are exclusive to mobile. There's automatic modes which includes Auto-Potion which automatically uses a health potion when Sargon's health is low, Auto-Parry which automatically deflects incoming attacks when you are not moving, and Auto-Hit which automatically strikes when close to an enemy.
The game is also stated to support running at 60 FPS and has touch controls but with support for an external controller. So players should be better off with a controller such as the Backbone One, 8BitDo Ultimate Mobile Controller, or the GameSir G8 Galileo (curr. available on Amazon for $69.99).
