Tudor launches new 1970s-style watch with GMT movement and integrated bracelet

Tudor has brought back the Northflag, nearly five years after discontinuing the original. The new watch comes with some significant hardware changes. Although, appearance-wise, it mostly remains the same as the original Northflag. First, let’s talk about what’s exactly changed. Tudor has now replaced the original power-reserve indicator with a GMT indication and an inner flange with a fixed 24-hour scale, giving the watch an entirely new purpose. 

Speaking of caliber, the Northflag is powered by the Master Chronometer-certified Calibre MT5652-U, which runs at 4 Hz with 65 hours of power reserve. At the back, there’s a slightly domed sapphire crystal, which exposes the movement. Tudor retains pretty much the same aesthetic from the original model. 

You get the same 40 mm stainless steel case with a fixed bezel, featuring a combination of satin-brushed surfaces and polished accents. The Northflag GMT retains the black dial, which is adorned with a date window, white and yellow accents, and hour markers and numerals that are made from monobloc ceramic. Plus, they are coated with luminous material, ensuring visibility during low-light conditions. 

Furthermore, the top of the dial is also protected by sapphire crystal, which offers better scratch resistance than the mineral crystal. The case is paired with an integrated-style steel bracelet with H-shaped main links and an adjustable T-Fit clasp. The GMT watch comes with 100 m (10 bar) water resistance.
