Trek Dual Sport+ hybrid e-bike launches as cheaper model with 35-mile range
Trek has revealed the Dual Sport+ hybrid e-bikes for road and light trail cycling. There are two pedelecs in the 2023 series, the Dual Sport+ 2 and the Dual Sport+ 2 Stagger which has an easy step-through frame.
A reliable G2 rear hub-drive motor provides a natural feeling assist up to 20 mph (~32 kph) with 40 Nm of torque. You can switch speed modes using a handlebar-mounted control panel with LED indicators. A 250 Wh internal battery provides up to 35 miles (~56 km) range; an optional Range Extender plug-and-play battery increases this to 70 miles (~113 km).
The bike is lightweight thanks to an Alpha Gold aluminum frame, making it easier to transport. The Dual Sport+ 2 weighs 38.39 lbs (~17.41 kg), while the Dual Sport+ 2 Stagger weighs 38.10 lbs (~17.28 kg). The bike is fitted with front and rear lights and a kickstand, with a maximum weight limit of 300 lbs (~136 kg).
The multi-surface pedelec has wide 27.5 x 2-in tires for stability and grip, and Shimano hydraulic disc brakes. A range of accessories, such as a rear rack and panniers, are available for electric bicycles. You can order either model of the Trek Dual Sport+ e-bike in blue or gray for US$2,399, making it one of the brand's cheaper electric models.
