Ridgeback Errand e-bike arrives with 20-in wheels and front rack

The Ridgeback Errand city electric bike has been launched. The vehicle has wide 20-in tires providing a comfortable ride and a more petite frame to keep the bicycle manoeuvrable. The pedelec is fitted with a 250 W Promovec motor and 375 Wh battery to assist you. A front rack is mounted on the bike, with the option to add a rear rack.

The Ridgeback Errand e-bike has been launched, designed for commuting and chores. 20-in x 2-in (~50 x 5cm) Schwalbe Big Apple tires ensure a comfortable ride, and it's more petite frame makes it easier to store, according to Ridgeback. Despite the frame size, the company says that the pedelec suits riders who are 5 ft 4-in to 6 ft 4-in (~163 cm to 193 cm) tall.

The Errand has an adjustable 90 mm (~3.5-in) stem and an alloy frame with a 1,150 mm (~45.3-in) wheelbase; it is currently unclear how much the bike weighs. A 250 W Promovec 50675 Hub Drive system can deliver up to 54 Nm of torque, with a top speed limit adjusted to follow regulations where you live. You can control the bike via the Promovec smartphone app. A 375 Wh battery is mounted to the e-bike's frame, though Ridgeback has not indicated an assistance range yet.

The pedelec is equipped with Clarks Clout-1 hydraulic disc brakes, an eight-speed Shimano Acera RD-T3000 microSHIFT drivetrain and a Sunrace CSM55 11-32 cassette. The bike has a front rack to carry your luggage; a rear rack mount allows you to expand the Errand's carrying abilities. Mudguards come as standard, alongside AXA front and rear lights. You can buy the Ridgeback Errand e-bike for £1,799.99 (~US$2,162.07) in black, blue and red.
