LEMO ONE E+BIKE unveiled with detachable Smartpac and fast-charging abilities
The LEMO ONE E+BIKE was recently showcased at Eurobike 2022. The e-system is stored in an all-in-one detachable Smartpac mounted on the frame. The lightweight tech pack houses the battery, which uses 30 21700 Li-ion cells with a rated power of 540 Wh, providing up to 100 km (~62 miles) range. You can fully charge the Smartpac in 3.5 hrs using standard 4 A charging or in 2 hours with the 7 A fast charging option.
Also in the Smartpac is a motor controller and IoT device alongside USB-A and USB-C charging ports which you can use to fast charge your laptop or smartphone. The system supports 4G, Bluetooth, GPS and FOTA for wireless system updates. A patented double clutch allows you to quickly switch between E-Bike mode and M-Bike, or manual, mode with the twist of a cap. In E-Bike mode, the 250 W near silent motor will assist you at speeds up to 25 kph (~16 mph), delivering up to 40 Nm of torque. You can connect to the bike with your smartphone to control the pedelec via an app, including a remote unlock feature. The bike weighs 13.7 kg (~30.2 lbs), and the Smartpac weighs 3 kg (~6.6 lbs).
You will be able to pre-order the LEMO ONE E+BIKE for €1,990 (~US$2,018) in Berlin this fall, with deliveries expected to start in Q4. The frame and Smartpac are available in various colors, and the bicycle can also be purchased as a regular bike without the Smartpac. You could then choose to rent the Smartpac via a monthly subscription service.
